At the moment we pass donations on to one of the most dynamic and creative organisations in clean water projects: charity:water
charity:water gives 100% of its donations to projects they implement with experienced local partners in 19 countries.
The overhead costs of charity:water and its partners are funded by external fundraising. That means that literally every dollar we donate is used in projects on the ground.
At the same time, we’re looking for projects that are as innovative, cool and sustainable as soulwater. If you know such a project: Please, shoot us an email.
PS: We, the soulwater association, use 5% to a maximum of 10% of the donations we receive for overhead and low-cost marketing.
That way we can make sure that we can fully concentrate on soulwater and don’t have to work on other means of fundraising (which makes our work better).
We believe in transparency and that this is also in your interest. Simply because (read on…)
work on the basis of self-exploitation (even if it happens for a good cause) massively loses quality in the long-term and is a guarantee for burn-outs all over the organisation. Anything but sustainable.
And for comparison: Usually, NGOs direct 15% of the donations they receive into fundraising, i.e. overhead and marketing. This is kind of the “industry standard” (even though of course organisations don’t talk a lot about this).
We try our best to keep the percentage of money used for overheads as low as possible and will pass on any surpluses directly to clean water projects.
You’ll find the detailed numbers in our yearly reports on this website.
